1995年西藏第一家公司西藏明珠上市，2009年8月28日，西藏奇正藏药股份有限公司股票在深圳证券交易所正式上市，成为西藏的第9家上市 公司。经过十多年的发展，西藏资本市场从无到有，从小到大，市场规模和市场主体持续稳定发展，市场功能不断提高，资本市场的功能优势和对地方经济的促进作 用不断增强。
西藏证监局负责人介绍说，在西藏9家上市公司中，不仅拥有在上交所、深交所主板上市的公司，也有亮相于中小板的企业，不仅包含国有控股公司，更不乏民营控股企业，其行业分布遍及藏医药业、社会服务业（旅游业）、矿产业、建筑建材业等。
截至2009年12月31日，西藏9家上市公司募集资金共计28．97亿元，平均每家募集资金3．22亿元；首发募集资金19．46亿元，平均每家募集2．16亿元；再融资9．51亿元，平均每家再融资1．06亿元。
